Let’s Roll Together Columbia!

The Columbia Police Department and GetAbout Columbia have teamed up to create Let’s Roll Together Columbia! This informative video, narrated by Sgt. Tim Moriarity, stresses the rights and responsibilities that both bicyclists and drivers have when using the roadways.

The video stresses the fact that both bicyclists and car drivers share the same rights and responsibilities when using the roadways. Tips for both drivers and cyclists include:

  • Be Predictable
Always obey the laws of the road and that includes stopping at all intersections.
  • Beware and Be Aware
Allow 3 feet of buffer space between a bicycle and a car and wait until it is safe to pass.
  • Always Signal
The law requires that both cars and cyclists signal when changing lanes or turning at intersections.
  • Be Courteous

The video stresses that we can all learn to roll together for a safe and friendly community.
