What’s black and green and zips by with an extension ladder strapped on the side? It’s the Overshiner Remodeling and Renovation company vehicle, of course. Gina Overshiner’s black Extracycle bike (the green is for its environmental friendliness) is loaded down with tools and off to the next job site.
When Tim and Gina Overshiner started Overshiner Remodeling and Renovations (ORR) it wasn’t a hard transition to do it the human powered way. Gina has always been a bike junkie and is used to pulling heavy loads in a cart. The change from hauling kids to hauling tools was smooth and easy. Tim also recently purchased his own Mundo, a bicycle with a large carrying capacity. A few gallons of paint or some two by fours are nothing to him. You won’t get any fuel surcharges with ORR, but you might offer them a Snickers bar for all those extra calories they are burning.
ORR offers a variety of light to medium construction services. Painting, window and door replacement, flooring, kitchen remodels, and decks are just a few of the home improvement jobs they can do. Their mission is to protect your home investment by providing superior quality work on time and within budget.
Besides biking to jobs, ORR finds other ways to be environmentally friendly. With their “Why Be Wasteful?” philosophy the business takes Reduce, Recycle and Reuse seriously. The Overshiner’s realize that the construction industry is hard on the environment, with nearly 40% of garbage dumped in landfills each year a byproduct of the construction industry. They take those usable scrap materials and reuse them in their own home projects, give them to family and friends, or donate them to Habitat for Humanity. “By taking small steps each day, we continue searching for new ways to reduce our environmental impact,” says Gina.
