Walking School Bus
The Walking School Bus is a program in which a group of children walk to and from school under adult supervision. The Walking School Bus concept was developed to enable children to have a safe, consistent system to walk to school on a regular basis, even when traffic, weather, and crime are concerns.
PedNet Coalition was recognized for having the largest, most systematic Walking School Bus program in the nation from 2005-2013. Eight schools participated with over 20 routes, including roughly 450-500 students and 200 volunteers each year.
This program was funded by Missouri Foundation for Health.
