Daniel the Intern Discusses Adopt-a-Bike

The Adopt-A-Bike Project started this fall and has already changed 2 individual lives. It has been an honor and a pleasure to take this project a make it into something so special. Essentially, Adopt-A-Bike is a program that gives a bike to someone in need, free of charge.

The way this project works is simple. We receive lightly used bikes, find donors who pay to help fix the bike to our standards, and give them to people who need them to get work, grocery shopping, doctors appointments, etc.The 2 individuals, Treves and Troy, who have received these bikes were ecstatic and extremely appreciative.

Treves, a high school student, has a job that he walks several miles to get to. He can now ride his new bike to work and school. The thumbs up and smile on Treves’ face when he received the bike made it that much more exceptional! He says having a bike has made life much easier!

Troy, our second recipient, was in between jobs, but had no way to get to any of the jobs he had applied for. We were able to get him a bike and now he can easily to get to work! He is very enthused to be able to easily get around town.

This project is growing in popularity and we are ready to improve the lives of people who need bikes! Contact us at our website if you would like to get involved or would like more information!
