Infrastructure Planning

Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plans

A bicycle and pedestrian master plan is nearly always the first and most important step towards making a community more bicycle and pedestrian friendly. PedNet believes that every plan should have two distinct purposes: one is technical and the other is inspirational.

A plan should be used to excite and educate citizens, elected leaders and even potential new funders. Colorful graphics, easily understood and attractive maps, and point-of-view renderings can make a tremendous difference between a plan that sits on the shelf and seeing infrastructure begin to be built.

We’ve developed both city and countywide bicycle and pedestrian master plans. Below is an example of a plan we created for Girard, Kansas.
