PedNet Coalition launched the CoMET (Columbians for Modern, Efficient Transit) Campaign in March 2011 with the goal of tripling transit services in Columbia, MO.
The CoMET Campaign vision is:
“A modern, efficient transit system will enrich the lives and support the successes of all individuals, organizations, and businesses in Columbia, by providing a reliable, convenient transportation service that promotes health, opportunity, and sustainability.”
We partnered with the Columbia/Boone County Health Department to perform two transit Health Impact Assessments to inform decision makers about the potential health impact of improving and expanding transit services, as well as a funding mechanism considered to increase the transit budget. We also advocated in support of COMO Connect.
This campaign was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
